James Moose serves as a Fire Captain of the Northeast Guilford Fire Department, bringing over 7 years of experience in emergency services and public safety. Starting his career as a firefighter, Moose rose through the ranks through hard work, dedication, and respect. Moose also served as a bosun’s mate in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years, mastering stills in search and rescue, water operations, and boat handling.
As Captain, he oversees the department’s day-to-day operations, conducts department training, and supervises fire and medical response. But specialises in water rescue operations. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he always says, “leadership is not about your power, but the ability to empower, encourage, and elevate others” Moose is always seen riding the truck with crews.
Captain Moose is respected for his professionalism, integrity, and service. Helping shape the future of the fire service and the safety of Guilford County.
A fire department lieutenant's primary responsibilities include supervising and training personnel, responding to emergencies, and managing a fire company's daily operations and equipment. They are responsible for ensuring personnel follow policies, training is conducted regularly, and all apparatus and equipment are in good working order.
Lieutenant Richardson started as a probationary firefighter under Chief Smith and worked his way up to his rank, now working harder every day to ensure the safety of the public.
