LifeLight, a specialized division under Guilford County EMS, provides rapid-response aeromedical transport across Guilford County. Designed for critical care situations where ground transport isn't fast enough, LifeLight bridges the gap between remote emergency scenes and advanced medical facilities, delivering elite care from the air.
The mission of LifeLight is to bring critical care directly to those in need, no matter the terrain or distance. We are committed to rapid deployment, exceptional patient care, and operational safety in every flight.
Our vision is to build a high-trust, elite medical aviation unit that enhances trauma survival rates, strengthens rural emergency support, and ensures no patient is out of reach.
LifeLight units are deployed for:
Trauma scenes requiring immediate hospital transfer
Cardiac arrests in rural or isolated areas
Multi-patient mass casualty events
Interfacility transfers for critically ill patients
EMS support during major public events or disasters
With a flight crew composed of critical care medics, flight-certified paramedics, and experienced pilots, LifeLight brings the ER to the patient.
LifeLight operates out of designated helipads with medical helicopters outfitted with:
Cardiac monitors and ventilators
Rapid sequence intubation (RSI) capabilities
IV/IO infusion systems
Onboard oxygen and trauma supplies
Advanced GPS & navigation for precision deployment
Each unit is prepared for high-acuity patient care from lift-off to landing.
