Specializing in locating and retrieving missing or endangered individuals, our SAR unit combines advanced training, specialized equipment, and unwavering dedication to save lives when every second counts. 

Behind every skilled firefighter is a foundation built through rigorous training and experience. The NGFD Training Division ensures all members are prepared for the field, providing hands-on instruction, scenario-based exercises, and continuous education under the leadership of seasoned trainers. 

Safety starts with prevention. The Fire Marshal’s Office oversees inspections, investigations, and community education to reduce fire risks across Guilford County. Through proactive enforcement and detailed fire cause analysis, this division helps safeguard lives, property, and our department’s future. 

Communication is the bridge between our department and the communities we serve. The NGFD Public Information Office delivers clear, timely, and accurate information to the public during emergencies and everyday operations. Through media coordination, community outreach, and transparent updates, this division builds trust, keeps residents informed, and strengthens the vital connection between NGFD and Guilford County.
