Looking to save lives? Join NGFD!
Adherence to uniform and equipment standards ensures that all NGFD members present a professional image, maintain safety during operations, and are prepared for any situation that arises. Regular inspections and proper maintenance are essential to keeping our operations effective and safe.
While minor adjustments to your uniform may be made for personal comfort or practical reasons, any changes requested by command must be adhered to promptly and without hesitation. Should there be a need for significant modifications to the uniform, approval from command must be obtained prior to implementation. All personnel are expected to maintain uniformity and professionalism in appearance at all times, ensuring that the integrity of the department’s image is upheld.
If uniform repairs, exchanges, or replacements are necessary, please contact your supervisor or command. They will facilitate the appropriate arrangements to ensure you are provided with the required items in a timely manner.
Any individual found wearing an improper uniform/rank/division, disgracing the uniform, selling, trading, or engaging in any similar misconduct regarding department-issued uniforms will face disciplinary action. Such actions may result in a formal reprimand, suspension, or, in severe cases, termination from the department.
The guide is designed as a Technical Reference Library. Rather than listing every possible combination, we provide a "Base Uniform" and a series of "Equipment Keys" that allow for modular customization based on your unit and rank.
1. The Alpha-Numeric Coding System
Every piece of equipment is assigned a Universal ID Code in [brackets]. These codes are consistent throughout the entire website:
[M] =
[G] = Gloves & Handwear
[P] = Pants & Lower Body
[S] = Footwear (Shoes/Boots)
[R] = Communications (Radios)
[V] = Specialized Vests
[B] = Badges
[PI] = Pins
[BT] = Utility Belts
[H] = Headwear (Hats/Helmets)
2. How to Read the Reference Tables
Each table provides the specific item required to render the item correctly in the field.
Example Entry: > [S1] Standard Duty: #103 (Shoes) / #111 (Boots) — Texture #1
The Code [S1]: This is what you will see listed on the Uniform Class page.
The item (#103): This is the specific model number to select in your equipment menu.
The Texture (#1): This ensures the color (e.g., Black leather) is correct.
3. Nested Logic (The "Note" Blocks)
Directly beneath each table, you will find [Note:] blocks. These are not suggestions; they are Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Rank Filtering: Some codes (like [P1] Rank Pins) will explicitly tell you to leave the item at 0 unless you hold a specific rank.
Conflict Resolution: Some notes will explain that two items cannot be worn together (e.g., the Diving Tank [DG1] cannot be worn with the Neck Tie).
4. The "Loadout" Workflow
To properly "gear up," follow this three-step workflow:
Base Layer: Select your Uniform Class (e.g., Class B Long Sleeve).
Required Attachments: Cross-reference the [Letter] codes listed for that class in the Equipment Keys at the bottom of the page.
Specialty Check: Apply any mission-specific gear (e.g., adding [LW1] Light & Wedge to your helmet if you are responding to a structural fire).
If you encounter a "clipping" issue (where one piece of clothing pokes through another) or an "invisible" body part, return to the Equipment Key for that item. Most keys include a Technical Tip specifically designed to solve these common asset conflicts.
Assistance & Inquiries
We recognize that the high-fidelity standards of our department involve complex equipment configurations. If you have questions regarding a specific item ID, experience technical issues with your uniform rendering, or require clarification on rank-specific attire, do not hesitate to reach out.
For support, please notify:
Your Recruiter: For initial uniform setup and basic equipment orientation.
The Recruitment Team: For general inquiries during the onboarding process.
A Member of Command: For rank-specific insignias, specialty unit authorizations, or policy clarifications.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring you look the part of a professional first responder. We will assist you in resolving any equipment conflicts to ensure you are field-ready and compliant with department standards.
The most formal uniform for the department. Used for ceremonies, graduations, funerals, and official portraits.
